Respite finally comes the way of motorists and other road users plying Ilesa Ijebu-jesa road, Ilesa, as FERMA begins work on the two dilapidated bridges on the asphalt route.
The deplorable conditions of the bridges at Enu Odi Ijebu-jesa and General filling station, Jafoko, Coca-cola area have remained a nightmare for the road users while residents expressed fear plying the axis at night.
Speaking with Radio Nigeria on the time frame for the rehabilitation, the Controller, Osun State Federal Emergency Road Maintenance Agency, mr Bamidele Fasoranti said the project which would commence on Saturday had the federal government approval and adequate fund for completion.
Explaining further on the scope of the maintenance work, Mr Fasoranti announced that one lane of the road would be opened to traffic during the rehabilitation.
He pleaded with the road users to cooperate with FERMA workers to construct durable culverts and retaining walls to reclaim the road washed away by erosion.
