OSUN STATE COMMISSIONER FOR INFORMATION AND CIVIC ORIENTATION MRS. FUNKE EGBEMODE STATED THIS DURING THE OPENING OF 2021 PRESSES WEEK OF THE OSUN CHAPTER OF THE NIGERIA UNION OF JOURNALISTS, IN OSOGBO.

 MRS EGBEMODE EMPHASIZED THE NEED FOR EDUCATION AND POLITICAL CONSCIENTIZATION OF CITIZENS TO IMPROVE THEIR AWARENESS ON THE REQUIREMENTS FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT.

COMPARING THE TOTAL VOTE CAST DURING 2021 BIG BROTHER NAIJA TO NATIONAL VOTE CAST DURING 2019 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS THE COMMISSIONER LAMENTED THE MISPLACED PRIORITY OF CITIZENS SAYING  IT WAS TIME TO PLACE HIGHER PREMIUM ON ISSUES THAT AFFECT THE LIVES OF CITIZENS OVER AND ABOVE ISSUES THAT PROVIDE TEMPORARY EXCITEMENT.

OSUN STATE GOVERNMENT HAS RETRIATED IT’S RESOLVE TO PUT ALL NECESSARY MACHINERY IN PLACE TO MAKE FARMERS ENJOY THE NEEDED SUPPORT FROM GOVERNMENT. 

THE STATE COMMISSIONER FOR AGRICULTURE AND FOOD SECURITY, MR ADEDAYO ADEWOLE GAVE THE ASSURANCE DURING THE DISTRIBUTION OF THE CASSAVA STEMS TO SOME FARMERS IN OSOGBO.

THE EXERCISE ACCORDING TO THE COMMISSIONER IS IN FURTHERANCE OF THE RESOLVE OF GOVERNOR OYETOLA LED GOVERNMENT TO CURTAIL THE SCARCITY AND HIGH COST OF FOOD STUFFS IN THE STATE.

MR ADEWOLE NOTED THAT THE PROGRAMME WHICH WAS IN COLLABORATION WITH INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TROPICAL AGRICULTURE,IITA,  IBADAN WAS BASICALLY GEARED TOWARDS   BOOSTING  FOOD PRODUCTION ESPECIALLY  CASSAVA IN LIEU OF BOUNTIFUL HARVEST NEXT YEAR.

Hinpele Burial

Memory of the legendary broadcaster, Otunba Olatunbosun Abe popularly known as ‘Hinpele O’ will linger for a long time in the history of Ijesaland because of  the way he projected the dialect and promoted the unity of the land  on radio 
The provost of  Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, Diocese of Ilesa South,  cathedral Church of  Holy Trinity, Omofe, Ilesa , very reverend Enitan Olajide stated this at the funeral service of the veteran presenter at the Cathedral.
Very reverend Olajide said Otunba Olatunbosun Abe was not just a freelancer but a public commentator who promoted cultural and moral values, as well as, unity among the people of Ijesaland through his dialectical program, ‘Hinpele o'.
Challenging the people in attendance to make positive impact on their immediate and remote environments through their God given talents , the provost remarked that the vacuum created by his death in the broadcast industry would be difficult to fill 
Very reverend Olajide also emphasized that death was not a respecter of Fame, wealth or nobility , hence everybody should  prepare for the inevitability.
Speaking on the person of his father, the first child, Funso Olatunbosun eulogized Hinpele o , saying  he was an example of a good and industrious father who never coveted what belonged to others.
Also speaking the immediate younger brother to the late iconic broadcaster, Mr Kunle Olatunbosun described his brother as a frank talker who never pretended at all, but would rather say thing the way it appeared to him .
The funeral service had in attendance media guru including the former Director General of Osun State Broadcasting Corporation, Mr Wale Idowu, General Manager, Uniq FM, Otunba Jare Ayo Martins, Assistant Director Marketing ,  Gold Fm, Mrs Kemi Oni, Isaac Haastrup, chief Afolabi Igbaroola , Oladimeji Lasore, Abiodun Aponjolosun and  host of others.

OSHA/BUDGET

OSUN STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY SAYS HEADS OF REVENUE GENERATING AGENCIES WHO FAILED TO APPEAR FOR THE DEFENCE OF THEIR BUDGET FOR THE 2022 FISCAL YEAR WILL GET ZERO ALLOCATION.

THE SPEAKER, MR. TIMOTHY OWOEYE STATED THIS WHILE DECLARING OPEN 2022 BUDGET DEFENCE BY MINISTRIES AND AGENCIES IN THE STATE BEFORE THE HOUSE COMMITTEE ON FINANCE AND APPROPRIATION.

MR OWOEYE SAID THE ASSEMBLY WOULD BE THOROUGH IN THE CONSIDERATION OF BUDGET PROPOSALS PRESENTED BY MINISTRIES AND AGENCIES OF GOVERNMENT.

THE SPEAKER ADVISED MINISTRIES AND AGENCIES TO IMPROVE ON THEIR INTERNALLY GENERATED REVENUE DRIVE BY LOOKING INWARD AS WELL AS BLOCK ALL REVENUE LEAKAGES AND LOOP HOLES WITHIN THEIR JURISDICTION.

HE URGED RESIDENTS AND BUSINESS OWNERS IN OSUN STATE TO ENSURE TIMELY PAYMENT OF TAXES AND LEVIES WHICH HE NOTED WOULD LESSEN THE STRESS OF FUNDING OF BUDGET.

EARLIER, THE CHAIRMAN, HOUSE COMMITTEE ON FINANCE AND APPROPRIATIONS, MR. TAIWO OLODO SAID THE ASSEMBLY IS SET TO HELP THE MDAS IMPROVE ON THEIR SERVICES, SO AS TO ENABLE THEM GENERATE MORE REVENUE FOR THE STATE GOVERNMENT, ASKING THEM TO TABLE THEIR CHALLENGES AND CONSTRAINTS BEFORE THE COMMITTEE.

Youths organize a special lecture at Ilesa Central Mosque to celebrate Eld El Maulud

   

Chief imam Ansar islam Ijesaland ,alhaji Abduraheem Bushra says leadership determines followership as good  qualities of the governed is a by product of exemplary characters of the leaders.

Alhaji Bushra  made the call at  the first lecture ever organized at the Ilesa central Mosque, by Muslim youths  to mark the   Birthday of Prophet Muhammad.

He said money, women and arrogance were responsible for failure of many leaders, advising the Islamic youth scholars to be rooted in Quran in order not be carried away by worldly things.

Alhaji Bushra lauded the youths for setting the pace in the history of Islam in Ijesaland and canvassed support for them to make the next eld El Maulud celebration more impactful in the area.

The imam of the youth Islamic Scholar , Alfa Abdurafiu Abiola Omoidunnu, in his welcome address amplified the importance of the day, which centered on humble beginning of prophet Muhammad who rose to greatness to Islam.

According to him , prophet Muhammad had forecast the Innovation in the  science and technology long time ago as it related to promulgation of Islam, stressing that he celebrated his birthday every Monday through fasting to give thanks to Allah who gave him the insight.

Alfa Abiola said the name, prophet Muhammad, remained the sure way to receive mercy, blessings and grace from Allah, hence the need to celebrate the birthday of the divine gift to humanity.

Highlights of the lecture were recitation of some Quran verses, Prayer for the nation, Osun state and Ijesaland.

 YOUTH HAVE BEEN ADVISED NOT TO ALLOW THE CURRENT ECONOMIC REALITY IN THE COUNTRY TO DETER THEM FROM PURSUING THEIR DREAMS OF BECOMING GREAT IN LIFE.

NONAGENARIAN TWINS, BISHOP KEHINDE JACOB OLOWOKURE AND PROFESSOR TAIWO THEOPHILUS OLOWOKURE GAVE THE ADVICE WHILE SPEAKING DURING AN INTERVIEW PROGRAMME ON RADIO NIGERIA GOLD FM IN ILESA.

THE PROGRAMME WAS PART OF ACTIVITIES LINED UP FOR THE UPCOMING GOLD FM SPECIAL PROGRAMME TO CELEBRATE ELDERLY IN THE SOCIETY CALLED ''AYESI AGBA" 

THE AGED TWINS URGED THE YOUTH TO REMAIN STEADFAST EVEN IF THINGS ARE NOT GOING AS THEY EXPECTED, NOTING THAT WITH PATIENCE, PRAYER AND COMMITMENT THEIR DREAMS WOULD COME TO PASS.

THEY HOWEVER WARNED THE YOUTH AGAINST GET-RICH-QUICK SYNDROME, SAYING PURSUING MONEY IN  HASTE WOULD HAVE NEGATIVE EFFECT ON THEIR LIFE AND THE SOCIETY.

Oyetola/Immunization

 



The Governor of osun state, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola has inaugurated the outbreak response to circulating vaccine derived polio as patrt of efforts towards advancing healthy living of the citizens, particularly the children.

Mr oyetola said the initiative was designed to produce healthy children who would inherit and sustain the administration development agenda and be the face of the osun`s dream.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, held at Ayegbaju international market osogbo, oyetola said by inaugurating the exercise today, the state was trying to prevent circulating vaccine derived polio which were in some states in nigeria from getting to osun.

He added that the initiative would serve as a booster to the health segment of the administration`s development agenda which encompasses adequate, quality and equitable healthcare delivert in all its ramifications.

Mr oyetola ramarked that his adminstration had adopted prompt strategies to remedy and revialise the health of the children.

He enjoined the residents, particularly parents and guardiansto take maximum advantage of the initiative urging them to cooperate with government by visiting the health centres to avail the children of the available facilities.

NATIONAL BROADCASTING COMMISION (NBC) COURTESY VISIT TO THE STATION


The National Broadcasting Commission(NBC)
has advised media houses to be cautious of what goes on air, so as to avoid unnecessary penalty.

The Zonal Director National Broadcasting Commission Dr Raphael Akpan gave this advice during a visit and the introduction of new state coordinator, Mrs Sherifat koro to the station.

Dr Akpan noted  that the state`s governorship election has not started and the period slated for campaign is ninety days before the election day. 

He however warned that any station caught will be sanctioned accordingly.

Earlier, the General Manager, Mr Adedamola Tinubu appreciate the National Broadcasting Commission for the role they play in sanitizing the industry and ask them not to relent in their effort to instill standard in all media houses.

The new state coordinator, Mrs Sherifat Koro however appreciate the Station's management for the warm reception received and pray for a more cordial relationship between the two bodies.
