BUHARI ASSURES NIGERIANS OF PEACEFUL PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

President Muhammadu Buhari has promised his government would conduct free, fair and acceptable election come 2023.

President Buhari gave the assurance today in his democracy day broadcast.

President Buhari who acknowledged that  today's broadcast was his last to do as president of Nigeria under his government said sustaining democratic principles remained one of the important legacies his tenure would leave behind.

While commending  the fallen heroes of democracy in Nigeria especially the winner of the Presidential election in 1993, Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, President Buhari assured Nigerians that his administration would guide against recurrence  of june 12 experience comes next year.


The president however charged the people to continue to cooperate with the government in providing adequate security, saying overcoming security challenges required collective effort.
