The Osun State Governor-elect, Senator Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, has expressed willingness to work with the structure of Lead Generation Initiative (LGI) in the state with a view to providing opportunities for its members and maximizing their potentials and leadership skills already acquired through the Get Involved Leadership Training (GILT) held in 2020 in the state.
Senator Adeleke made this known yesterday when a delegation of the LGI led by its founder, Honourable Shina Peller, paid him a visit in his country home, Ede in Osun State.
Commending the founder of the NGO, Honourable Peller, for the initiative and for using his personal resources to train the youth across the country, Senator Adeleke promised to accommodate and welcome contributions from members of the LGI in the state when sworn-in as the Executive Governor.
In his remarks, Honourable Shina Peller, who presently represents Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency at the House of Representatives, congratulated the governor-elect on his election victory and handed over the structure of the LGI in the state to him.
It would be recalled that Lead Generation Initiative, a non-governmental, non-partisan and non-profit organization, has, through its Get Involved Leadership Training (GILT), successfully trained thousands of youths across the country on effective leadership, governance, strategic communication, civic responsibility and citizenship.
The first edition of GILT was held in Ibadan, Oyo State from 3rd September to 6th September, 2020 while the second took place in Osogbo, Osun State from 6th to 9th, October 2020. Thousands of youths from Bauchi, Gombe, Kwara, Niger, Adamawa, Taraba, Yobe and Borno states are also beneficiaries of GILT.
