Speaker of Ogun Assembly and 2 others arraigned in court for 4.1 bn alleged fraud

Olakunle Oluomo, speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, and two other people have been charged before Justice Daniel Osiagor of a Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos.

On Tuesday, they were docked by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on 11 counts of conspiracy, forgery, and theft of more than N4.1 billion.

To the accusation, they all entered not guilty pleas.

The Speaker and other defendants were driven into the courthouse by the anti-graft organisation in a hummer bus with the licence plate ABJ 445 AG, despite the fact that their arraignment was delayed by many days due to rumours.
